The challenge
A new build with a high water table and clay soil that holds water. The designer required a solution able to withstand occasional hydrostatic pressure.
The solution
We primed the concrete walls, fully bonded the bituminous membrane and protected it with a dimpled sheet and geotextile. The footing-to-wall junction was formed with a fillet and a reinforcing strip.
The result
The basement stayed dry through two springs with above-average rainfall.
